[dev] Sidebar Mail "Block"

Is there any configuration I need to do for the sidebar mail block?

It *seems* (I haven't done any thorough testing yet) that it initially only
checks Inbox for new messages, and only displays Inbox (with no expansion
icon) under the Mail heading. To have it display the count of all new messages
(and the entire folder tree under Inbox), I have to have the folder list
displayed in the main frame until the tree updates. After that, it continues
to update the count of all new messages and to display the entire folder list
for the duration of that session.

Do I have to do something to get it to load the entire folder tree when
initially loading the sidebar frame?
