Hi,

I have this problem, too. But...

I have a mailbox. If I logout and do a login again, after the 
maintenance-confirmation the left menu is not shown.

What I found out:
* If I simply reload the browser, the left menu is still not shown. This 
is the URL:
https://webmail.mydomain.de/index.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwebmail.mydomain.de%2Fimp%2Fmailbox.php%3Fmailbox%3DINBOX%26amp%3Bno_newmail_popup%3D1&frameset=

* If I remove anything behind index.php, or simply enter 
https://webmail.mydomain.de, the menu is shown again.

I'm using Cyrus, too.

Result: I think there is a problem with those parameters.
