Agreed.  I have to use IE 6 at work over a fairly slow connection, and 
it takes
a long time to load w/the extra alpha-transparency stuff.  Not to mention IE
routinely screws up at least a couple of times per page (i.e. not loading the
blank GIF correctly for images so the image appears with an IE red X 
overlaying
it).
