Where do you have the tests from? The serialized values are wrong, but 
the expected values are even more wrong.

"é" for example is actual feff00e9 in utf-16 if this is really the 
desired encoding. The expected value are utf-8 encoded though. An the 
actual result is feffffe9, which is wrong in any case.
