One option would be to have a pseudo variable (like the 'header' type) 
that stopped things wrapping, but don't think that's particularly nice.

An alternative would be to implement a table in the same manner as 
sections (open and close) and I don't mind having a poke around to try 
and achieve this because it's kindof a big deal for what I have in mind.
