I've now tried H3 RC-1 versions with MySQL with InnoDB engine for DataTree 
and DataTree attributes tables. Unfortunately it helped only a little.

The system became unusable when there some 1000+ users using webmail. 
Unfortunately I cannot say what was the concurrent connection count to 
the db at that time.

Is there a difference in speed or performance between php's MySQL and 
MySQL Improved extensions or is it all depending on the speed of the mysql 
server.
