[dev] build from nightly snapshots

I've been working with the stable versions of horde for a while now, however I'm
looking into trying out some of the dev versions to see what is coming up next. 
Since I haven't used CVS before, so I thought it might be easier to try out the
latest versions from the nightly snapshots.  I downloaded the latest "head"
snapshot of horde, however when I unpacked it I noticed a lot of files were
missing -- mostly from the lib directory.

What do I need to do to build from these snapshots?
