A useful variation on the hatchery might be to have a framework/  
directory in the hatchery for any development of up-and-coming  
libraries, instead of scattering them in different directories. This  
would make it clear what framework libs were "hatching", and would  
also make it easier to generate an include_path-ready directory of  
hatchery libraries.
