I guess the PHP developers will make a lot of fun out of themselves if  
they first deprecate it with 5.0, then undeprecate it with 5.3, only  
to deprecate it again in the future. :)
The only problem I currently see is, that is_a() will not allow us to  
run E_STRICT-safe in 5.2.
