[dev] call to logMessage() of non-object

i'm getting the following error msg when trying to Sync with SyncML -
Funambol

error:  Call to a member function logMessage() on a non-object in
/usr/share/php/Horde/SyncMl/Backend/Horde.php on line 110

seems like
$this->_logger  is null.

i installed Log with pear install Log.

Version:4.0.1 (webmail + groupware)

any ideas?
