[dev] ongoing performance problem, please help

Hi Thomas,

this looks promising but unfortunately it did not help, maybe because I am
running BSD, not Linux. I have also come to suspect that horde causes some
network traffic that takes that long and the problem may well be related to
DNS, IPv6 and the like.

At the moment I cannot inspect the interface traffic (tcpdump) because I
haven't figured out yet how to make the interface available in a jail and
the host system is too restrictive for tcpdump. I found somebody who did,
though (
https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/tcpdump-not-working-in-jails.49380/), so
help may be on the way.

Thanks for your efforts, thoughts and insights

  Sebastian
