[gollem] relative paths

I've still had no luck getting this working, so I thought I'd ask again
here.

Here's the deal... the "change directory" menu item used to work for
relative paths.  It doesn't anymore.  It assumes everything is off of the
vfsroot.

It probably should be done in the backend, but my only success has been in
modifying Gollem, not the VFS stuff.. which isn't super portable.

ideas?
