[gollem] Newbie question : setting up Gollem

Hi list,
i am very new to gollem, and can't get it work.
I tried to modify backends.php to be able to see Virtual Home  
Directories and SQL Server.
But I can select either of them, without result.
If I click on the login button, i fall back to the same screen.
I read about permissions, but don't know how to handle.
Is there a HOWTO about how it works, where are the log files etc.
