Hello list,
I have a gollem-1.0.3 installation with two samba backends in production
use since several years. All worked flawlessly until I upgraded from
samba-3.0.24 to 3.0.27a.
After upgrading, the following problems surfaced when using any samba
backend in gollem:
* Creating a folder "folder2" in ROOT/folder1 results in
ROOT/folder1folder2 being created
* Creating a folder "folder3" in ROOT/folder1/folder2 results in
ROOT/folder1/folder2folder3 being created
FTP backends are not affected.
Reverting back to samba-3.0.24 resolves the problem.
Didn't have much time to look into it yet, but a quick search for
smbclient in the samba changelogs revealed a couple of changes. The
matching URLs are listed in [1] to [6] for your review.
Here the environments for two of the affected servers (shouldn't really
matter):
* Gentoo Linux
* Kernels 2.4.34-grsec and 2.6.20.21-grsec
* Apache 2.0.59-r5 with PHP 5.2.5 and Apache 2.2.6 with PHP 5.2.5 and
suhosin
* samba shares are on remote servers
Cheers,
Felix
