PHP 4 and IMP

Dear Miliser,

     I want implement webmail using IMP in my linux box (RH.6.2), and now i have
     been install imap-4-7.5 qmail, vpopmail, qmailadmin
     and my question is could we implement imp with php4 which I know
     that current version of horde and imp now still work under php3,
     but I have been installed php4 in my linux box, is so what should
     I do
     I have been install them
     
  php-4.0.4
  phplib-7.2b.tar.gz
  horde.1.2.4.tar.gz
  imp.2.24.tar.gz
  
     but now still doesn't work

     Help me pls..
