IMO, a howto on this to get folks up and running with imp using ldap for 
maildrop, imap, prefs, turba, etc.  would be fantastic.  I have been playing with 
this off and on and have always run into too many gotchas and haven't been able 
to get it to do anything constructive.  I see too much potential to give up so 
when I have a little free time I start almost from scratch again.:-(

There was an old howto on Horde from about 1999 but I could never get cyrus to 
work with the patch, for example.
