I got those errors too.. so i simply removed those four lines in the code in 
lib/Prefs.php, starting from line 91. my script now looks like this.

//                if (!session_register('prefs_cache')) {
//                    unset($prefs_cache);
//                    $caching = false;
//                }

If you use the cache funtions, i don't think i recommend you to remove them, 
but otherwise it's just to comment them out. i haven't stumbled upon anything 
that's stopped working for me.
