[horde] mysql_create.sql messed me up

Hello,

Im going batty over this install.

Im at the point where I want to add the horde database to SQL
I run the command:
mysql --user=root --password=xxxxx < mysql_create.sql

and then I get an error:
Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' to database 'mysql'

And now my root user has no privileges.
So my other websites that use sql as well also don't work.

So what I would like to know
What am I doing wrong here.

The only thing I can think to do is completely remove SQL and then
reinstall it.

Im using php 4.2.3, mysql 3.25 apache 1.37 linux red hat 7.3

Any help would be great.
