Here is the installation of PEAR that I use:
http://www.graftonhall.co.nz/mikes/pear.zip

I work on windows so you get a zip file instead of a tar file :-) I am using it
with PHP 4.2.4 and CVS HEAD of Horde/IMP/Turba/......
