[horde] undefined index: status

Hi!  I followed the installation instruction
http://www.geocities.com/oliversl/imp/ and installed with latest download
(newer than the instruction mentioned) successfully.  However, when i login
http://localhost/horde i got a php error message saying "Notice: Undefined
index: status in /usr/local/apache2/horde/menu.php on line 34", and no menu
appear after login, only have a few icon such as logout and horde.  I'm
using the following package:

RH7.3
apache2.0.44 with php4.3.1 (complied from source)
mysql 3.23.55 (rpm)
horde2.2
imp3.2.1

any advise is appreciated, thankyou.
