[horde] Where is the mail?

I am able to use IMP and sign on to the system. I am able to send mail out. 
 
My home directory is /export/home/mdpeters and I have qmail email arriving
in my /export/home/mdpeters/maildir/new directory just fine.
 
When I sign in using IMAP and IMP, I cannot see my new email and I am not
sure  where outgoing mail gets processed through. I suppose this is a simple
configuration issue somewhere.
 
If anyone can shed some light I would appreciate it.
