[horde] MOTD application and a CVS question

I'm going to pretend there is sufficient interest and start working on
that MOTD application I brought up a week or so ago. Again, the idea is
to provide a database-driven version of motd.php, as well as the
application as an interface for viewing and maintaining the messages.
Any suggestions for the application name?

I also have a question for those of you who follow the CVS updates. The
way I do it can't be the most efficient since it requires four source
trees: 1) my local CVS repository, 2) production checkout, 3)
development checkout, and 4) the 'download' tree synchronized with
Horde. Do most of you just use the source updated from Horde as your
production environment? I don't think I'm being clear. How can I update
from the Horde CVS repository, make some modifications, and then commit
to my local repository, avoiding the CVSROOT clash? Not knowing how to
solve that problem is why I have that separate download tree; I copy
the updated files from there to my development checkout and merge the
differences. This isn't the only way, is it?

Thank you,
Brian
