You didn't specify a protocol in your params, so it would probably try
to use tcp/ip.  If you really are running both unix sockets and tcp/ip,
try specifying each one and see if it makes any difference.

Hmm...  I guess this is beyond my experience with pgsql.  I use the
default, whatever that is.
