You're talking about CVS HEAD? If you want to use different backends for
authentication and administration, why don't you use the composite Auth
driver? You should find some examples on the Horde mailing list.

Use the composite driver or wait for the hordeauth patch for IMP to be
cleaned up and committed to CVS.
