[horde] Log problem with horde and pear

Hello,

I have downloaded pear-1.1 and horde-2.2.3.
There is a bug with the file logging.
Nothing is written to the log file.

If I use pear-4.1.0, I do not have this problem
but it 4.1.0 listed as not recent with horde/test.php.

I guess it is the same bug as the one reported by
jrkuipers at lauwerscollege.nl on october 2002.

Would you know what I should do to avoid this bug?

I was thinking of installing pear-1.1 and replacing
Log.php and Log/* by the scripts from pear-4.1.0,
but it is not clean.
