[horde] /usr/local/lib/libmcal.so: undefined reference to `cc_login'

hello all

i have been trying to install horde-latest.tar.gz.  i am using 
Apachetoolbox-1.5.66 to do my Apache PHP and other mod install. i get no 
errors useing this system until i try and add mcal to the PHP config file. 
when it goes to compile the Apache part i get this error.

i have done a google and got some reference to a ldconfig.  i have tried 
using the mcal rpm mcal-0.7-0hord2.i686.rpm and building mcal from source. 
i'm using RedHat 9.0 apache_1.3.27

what am i doing wrong. i typed in ldconfig and nothing seemed to happen and 
i still get this error.
