[horde] Having cvs update issues - not a server problem

I'm trying to get my old cvs install up to speed - it's from May 03 :(

In any case, I first tried to do a massive update to 'now', 
cvs update -PAd
but the horde/lib/Horde directory was never created..

So I started going by date:
cvs update -PAd -D07/1/2003 horde

I was able to successfully update monthly through October in that
manner, but I think that's when some separation started, and imp stopped
working (missing an imp/lib/xxx dir), then in November the horde/lib
never got a 'Horde' directory.

What cvs command should I be using?
