[horde] gettext issues.

First post here, pleasle let me know if I do anything
improper.
 
I've been a user of IMP for many many years. Love it!
Even contributed some code a long, long time ago.
 
Finally getting around to installing the newest stable
version. Sadly, I'm having problems that I just don't
understand.
 
OS: Linux, slackware version 9.1. standard
installation.
 
Here's the output of horde: test.php

But gettext and xml ARE compiled in!

Clicking on the phpinfo() screen, shows these

I've also verified that gettext and XML are definately
installed in the system and working. The "shared,path"
syntax seems to be normal for the current version of
PHP configure, and I'd rather tweak the horde code or
PHP.ini than recompile PHP.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Also, since my company is a very small family owned
business and strictly Eenglish speaking (I hope I
don't offend anyone here) can I just disable the
gettext requirement, since we'll never need it?
