[horde] Horde Installation

I am new to Horde, having used Squirrelmail for the last year or so. When I tried to install horde from a tarball, I extracted the tarball in /var/www/html/. I googled for installation information and didn't find much at the first steps level. I did find a page which told me to use the following command: 

for foo in *.dist; do cp $foo `basename $foo .dist`; done

to create the appropriate files in the config directory which I did, but I do not have a clear idea what is to be done next.  It seems that there is a lack of first touch type documentation with regard to Horde. I am not a rookie at installing software on my Linux box, but I didn't see a configure file or step by step instructions in the INSTALL file that the tarball did contain. It could be that I am just overwhelmed this week - which is certainly the case - and just am not seeing it. Anyway, if someone will get me going, I promise to write some step by step instructions when I get it installed. What's next?
