[horde] mysql authentification

hi there!

i'm trying to authenticate myself via the mysql horde_users table.

after trying with the wrong password() i used md5() and now it seems
as if i'm coming a bit further, but now i see this message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mhash() in 
/usr/share/pear/Horde/Auth.php on line 212

what does that mean? what is missing here?

anybody had this before?
