[horde] I am unable to find any doc's on applying the horde/ imp patches

Greetings,
 I am unable to find any documentation at horde.org for applying any
of the horde or imp patches available on ftp.horde.org. Though I am
not completely unfamiliar with patch. I would be greatful if someone
would share the *recommended* procedure(s) so as to help ensure I don't
clobber my current setup.
