[horde] DB Error: extension not found

I'm running RH Linux 3.1 ES

php 4.3.2
apache 2.0.46
mysql 4.0.20
horde-toaster-2.2.3-1.0.9.src.rpm

After I log into horde, I get this error message:

A fatal error has occurred:

DB Error: extension not found

[line 108 of /usr/share/toaster/htdocs/horde/lib/Prefs/sql.php]

Details have been logged for the administrator.

Any suggestions on what to do to correct this problem?  Thanks.
