[horde] problems installinh horde 3 RC1

Hi, im trying to install the horde 3 RC1. i did everything i found in the
installation file in the doc directory, and still cant make it work.

I try to go to http://mydomain/horde/test.php and i get the following error

The Horde_Util package was not found. If PHP's error_reporting setting is high
enough, there should be error messages printed above that may help you in
debugging the problem. If you are simply missing these files, then you need to
get the framework module from Horde CVS, and install the packages in it with
the install-packages.php script.


So i downloaded the framework from CVS, but when i do "php-q
install-packages.php" i get the following error

"PHP Fatal error:  Call to undefined function:  getoptions() in /usr/bin/pear on
line 34"

one for each package it tries to install.

Im using apache 1.3.27, php 4.2.2 (rpms made from source rpms from horde) i know
the php version is older than required for horde3, but i think it still should
show me the test.php page

I have a complete horde 2.2.7 working enviroment in the same server. Im using
virtual hosting for the horde 3 testing
