I agree that it wouldn't be as nice a solution, but until Release it might
be worth doing.  Once Release is out, for the next version, it would be
pretty easy to remove all references, and deprecate the function (or however
you want to do it).

My only reason for being so strongly for this is due to the severity of the
problem.  Last night I finally came up with a solution, which is pretty
ugly, but I had to have it since this project was due to go live on Tues =)
