After some more debugging, I've found out, that it tries to execute the
following query:
string(148) "INSERT INTO horde_datatree_attributes (datatree_id,
attribute_name, attribute_key, attribute_value) VALUES (33, 'email', '',
 ) [DB Error: mismatch]"

The '?' is being replaced with nothing?
