[horde] CVS problem help!

I don't know what to do about my cvs problem:
If somebody has any idea:
get the tar.gz horde-3.0.4-rc1.tar.gz
tar -xvzf horde-3.0.4-rc1.tar.gz
extract and rename horde
mv horde-3.0.4-rc1.tar.gz horde
then cvs co -r HEAD horde -> a lot of move away messages
cvs checkout: Updating horde
cvs checkout: move away `horde/COPYING'; it is in the way

find horde -name '*.php' -mtime -9 -ls -> no files
I can see that it is nothing after 13 of March which should be the date 
of archive.

Then rm -rf horde
cvs co -r HEAD horde
on a fresh horde directory I get the files OK
find horde -name '*.php' -mtime -9 -ls

So prehaps, I'm stupid, I haven't read enough, but I can't go further.
I tried also a /bin/cp -arf horde-3.0.4-rc1/* horde/ (the horde from CVS)
then cd horde;cvs update
find . -name '*.php' -mtime -9 -ls -> nothing

Can somebody tell me the right sequence of commands to get horde working 
via CVS. I posted some bugs reports, because I believed that my CVS 
install was OK, the modules were HEAD, but horde stayed RELENG_3..

Any ideas?.
