Sorry, for whatever reason I tought it will "ring the bell".

I've reported the problem a while back. Don't remember if it was in bug
tracking system, Horde mailing list, or IMP mailing list (can't find it
in any of those places anymore, oh well).

Anyhow. If I use IMP as authentication mechanism (actually, I'm using
the composite and choosing IMP or MIMP based on browser type as
described in one of Horde's HOWTOs, but it in this case it boils down to
IMP) and at the same time if I select that I want to use SQL based
sessions (PostreSQL in my case), I'm unable to log in. Basically, I get
entry in log files stating that login was successfull, but I'm actually
thrown back to the login screen. If I check horde_sessionhandler table,
I can see several rows added at each login attempt (session_id of the
last one being displayed in URL or the login screen).

One of developers (might be even you, don't remember anymore), replied
he fixed the problem, commited the fix into CVS, and that it will be
included in the next released version.

Thinking back, and trying to remember what actaully he wrote, could it
be that he ment next version of IMP? Hmmm...
