the other problem is more pressing:

The "page not found" error happens before it gets to the spell  
checker screen if it's turned on.  I don't know if all users who  
experience this problem have spell checking turned on (in fact I'm  
reasonably sure they don't) but it's at least a start towards trcking  
this issue down.
