Hi,

Have installed current versions of horde imp & co. on our freeBSD 4.11
system. All went very badly wrong.

These were the successfully running versions:
PHP: php-4.3.2RC4
Horde: horde-2.2.1
Imp: imp-2.2.8

PHP4 needed updating as the php-4.3.2RC4.tar.bz2 was no longer available
in the ports to configure for pear support.

and so the hell started....

Now using a simple php test script, php4 says its working fine, yet the
warnings and notices it spues out during apache restart is scary:

PHP Notice: Constant FORCE_DEFLATE already defined in Unknown on line 0
PHP Notice: Constant FILEINFO_RAW already defined in Unknown on line 0

This all has to be setup initially via ssh.

Horde:
In the config folder:
I am removed the .htaccess
changed the permissions
all files exist and don't end in .dist
I went through them, found there was nothing to change but was looking
for where to set the mysql password and other stuff that use to be in
horde.php, can't find them anywhere.

When I access /horde all I get is:

Some of Horde's configuration files are missing or unreadable
prefs.php

and the usual list.

Plus when I check the apache log after calling the url apache says:

Sep 12 19:34:26 DorisDay /kernel: pid 27736 (httpd), uid 65534: exited
on signal 11
[Mon Sep 12 19:34:27 2005] [notice] child pid 27736 exit signal
Segmentation fault (11)

can anyone help please, the staff and students want to use thier email
and I really don't want to resort to using eudora for every user.

Oh and its now using the default setting for the horde.log so where can
I change this?

M.
