[horde] Initial Horde install problem with PEAR error

Hi,

On first install of Horde 3.0.7 on Suse Enterprise 9 with PHP 5.1.1 and 
Apache 2.0.54 I get the following error after attempting logon to horde

Fatal error: Call to undefined method PEAR_Error::retrieve() in 
/srv/www/htdocs/horde/lib/Horde/Registry.php on line 796

I have verified that everything required is installed by going to the 
test.php page and not sure where to look next to resolve this error.
