[horde] Error after upgrading php-5.1.2

I am using horde 3.0.9 with imp 4.1-RC1 on Php5.1.2.

After configuring Horde and adding a new IMP server in servers.php I get
the following errors in /tmp/horde.log


Feb 27 14:29:57 HORDE [error] [imp] Unknown IMAP response from the server.

Can anyone help debug this error?  Where should I be looking?
