[horde] Sweating Bullets!! Help!

When using the socket, you cannot refer to the ip.  I just execute:
"mysql -u username -p horde".  It picks up the socked from my.cnf and
the connection is good.  You can specify the socket with the -S flag if
you want to be explicit.  The results are the same.
