[horde] MySQl sessions problem

Hello list,

we have a problem with our horde installation.

We have Horde in two web-servers and we store session information
in another server, running MySQL.
When not many users are logged in everything goes perfectly, but as we
reach many connections (select count(*) from horde_sessionhandler produces
2000 and higher) sometimes horde logs you out and in the horde log appear
  these messages:

HORDE [error] [horde] Error retrieving session data (id =
b16eb7c41b29486d460ca3399e2259fe) [on line 110 of
"horde/lib/Horde/SessionHandler/mysql.php"]

HORDE [error] [imp] Error writing session data [on line 144 of
"horde/lib/Horde/SessionHandler/mysql.php"]

HORDE [error] [horde] Error garbage collecting old sessions [on line
213 of "horde/lib/Horde/SessionHandler/mysql.php"]

and we can see this PHP error:
*** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (!prev): 0x08771738 ***
[Fri May 05 11:10:18 2006] [notice] child pid 5700 exit signal Aborted (6)

MySQL server is running ok and gives no error information.

Our versions are:
     * Horde: 3.1.1
     * Imp: H3 (4.1) (run Imp tests)
     * Ingo: H3 (1.1) (run Ingo tests)
     * Turba: H3 (2.1)

And the platform:
     * Apache 2.0.54
     * PHP 4.4.1
     * MySQL 5.0.18
     * OS Red Hat Advanced Server 4

¿Could this problem be related to MySQL performance or is it a Horde
issue? ¿Does anyone have any idea or suggestion?

Thanks to all the people involved in this project.

  Daniel Herrero
