[horde] 404 error when trying to open index.php

After first installing Horde on a clean Apache2Triad 1.4.4
Creating a database, and copying config files from its dist suffix, as 
writen in the documentation, test.php seems to work fine.
But when I'm accessing http://localhost/horde/index.php
I'm getting a 404 error and the url is pointing to: 
http://localhost/login.php?Horde=a4b0c3a6e344124bf7e3727b676bf08b
(which doesn't have 'horde' between the localhost and login.php.

I've tried finding the reason for it in all the documentation and searched 
through the newsgroups but nothing worked....

Please help....
