[horde] Move history out of datatree

All,

I am preparing an upgrade to 3.1 and hit a snag with the 
move_history_out_of_datatree.php.  It takes well over 24 hours to run on 
my database, and obviously I can not have our webmail system down for over 
24 hours.  Couldn't find a whole lot on the list archives.  Has anyone 
come up with a viable solution to this?

Any way to speed it up?  I've tried moving the whole db to a tmpfs disk 
(on Linux) but it's still taking too long.

What are the implications of bringing horde up while the 
move_history_out_of_datatree.php script is still running?
Would it cause any permanent damage or just some random screwiness for end 
users?  If the latter, i could probably live with running it one weekend 
when usage is low.
