Hello,

I had written:

Chuck Hagenbuck has asked:
> "bang"?

In this case, I meant "bang" = "as described above",
i. e. (is_a($permission, 'PEAR_Error') apparently evalutes to true,
so I get that error message described above.

And, as I also had written,
> There is no pertinent entry in php-error.log, apache-error.log,

So what should I try next in order do to render read-only
my 'localldap' addressbook?

Best wishes,
   Otto Stolz
