[horde] mimp fails

When accessing horde with a mobile client I see the first screen with 
the list of emails ..
Clicking on a email subject line gives me a blank page.
I see this in apache logs:

[Mon Apr 21 12:56:58 2008] [error] [client xx.x.x.xxx] PHP Fatal error:  
Call to a member function setValueByFunction() on a non-object in 
/srv/www/ssl-htdocs/horde-webmail-1.1-rc2/mimp/message.php on line 107, 
referer: https://theserver/mimp/mailbox.php?mailbox=INBOX&p=1

Line 107 in message.php is :
$imp_headers->setValueByFunction('date', array('nl2br'));
This seems reasonable.
Any directions ?
