Just a note: This is _NOT_ how I have traditionally used the flag.
So people's millage may vary.

I've never noticed that the flag was automatically cleared when I replied
though, in part because I usually delete them after I've replied, assuming
I reply at all which I usually don't...

So, in other words, it doesn't affect me, and I have no strong opinion,
but I find the change strange at an intellectual level...
