And this is *exactly* what I previously told you - a problem with your
prefs.

Yes, I hear you saying it as "exactly," so there are lots of pref files
and in the user interface I can select to not default to HTML and that
is clear if I don't wish to use HTML. Is there a "specific" prefs file
which needs looking into for HTML composition?
