Jan,  Michael Rubinsky also replied to me and like I mentioned to him,
accessing rpc.php directly from my browser I get a page saying:

SOAP-ENV:ClientBad Request

    The apache access log says:

    192.168.0.106 - - [12/Apr/2011:17:28:27 -0400] "GET
/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync HTTP/1.1" 403 229

    The apache error log says:

[Tue Apr 12 17:28:27 2011] [error] [client 192.168.0.106] client denied
by server configuration: /var/www/htdocs/horde4/rpc.php

    Any clues?
